Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse Links

Project photograph

Hamilton and Motherwell possess two remarkable parks.  The first sits high above Glasgow with views over the whole city, Chatelherault Country Park and the deep gorge of Avon Water. The second, the Strathclyde Country Park, sits in the valley bottom and is focused around Strathclyde Loch.  This scheme aims to link all the surrounding communities into these, their local parks, and to complete a link of the highest quality between the two.

"This is a great honour; I love the thought of becoming part of the landscape alongside Dick Wagstaff and the great Richard Burton. I'm hoping that my sculpture might be able to persuade Burton's sculpture to quote some poetry of an evening, or at least a bit of War of the Worlds." Rob Brydon
