Carnaby to Flamborough cycleway. |

As retired Bridlington residents my husband and I love to walk and cycle but find the traffic rather daunting. It would be wonderful to have a safe track where we could be accompanied by our young grandaughter. At a time when we are all being encouraged to take more exercise, this would be a huge step in the right direction for young and old alike.

I fully support any plan to create cycle routes in the Bridlington area because it is not easy to enjoy a ride to flamborough with roads as busy as they are, the same goes for a route in the other direction to Carnaby. Having seen how people are encouraged to cycle in other countries it is about time we did in England for health reasons as well as promoting our wonderful coastline.

as a keen cyclist living and cycling around east yorks I welcome the proposal for any new cycle routes in the area. especially ones that link existing cycle routes. I read with interest the above proposal in the Bridlington free press and hope it gets lots of local support. I do hope however that east riding council will listen to us cyclists - especially regarding cycling facilities in the area to encourage more cyclists - how about some where to put our bikes when visiting the area? surely the supermarkets aren't the only place in Bridlington to park them?
