What a fantastic initiative! I live on home farm in Caerleon and find unbelievable the number of cars going to the village and back 4 times a day to drop of and pick up the children from school (4 x 1.5 miles) when with a small amount of organisation several families could share lift/ walk together . We all complain that the whole nation is getting obese let's do something about it.
I for one cycle most days to go to work, the 1st month I saved £80.00 in petrol alone after 3 month I have saved enough to buy a very decent bike. Cycling to Newport at the moment takes 15 minutes ( to Sainsbury) with the new path it will be even faster.
it would be fantastic if the comprehensive allowed the students to cycle to school and provided a bike shed ( I always used to be behind the bike shed, where do they go now?...lol )
Even through work there is a scheme called ride 2 work from evans cycles in bristol which allows you to get a bike through your employer ( link below:

Also called the Green Transport Plan as it is know by revenue and custom is not promoted at all why?
Anyway that is one step in the right direction i guess! Great work can't wait to use the new link.
