Thanks for your comments. It's great to hear some feedback on the routes from regular users. We'd be very interested to see the clubs photo if you have access to it! Perhaps we could use it on the project page?

Perhaps you could send it to connect2ATsustransDOTorgDOTuk? (replace AT for "@" and DOT for ".")

Crab and Winkle Bridges

The 2 bridges proposed by the Crab and Winkle Trust which are part of the Connect2 bid will make the Canterbury to Whitstable route open to even more cyclists and walkers.  I have led many cycle groups from all over the world  down the C & W to be confronted by the steps at Whitstable Station.  This so amused members of the Icknield Road Club on a weekend away that they had a group photo there to show the steps on a cycle route.

Every weekend, the route is heavily used by familes for leisure cycling.  Getting a tagalong across the busy roads and down the steps is enough to make some turn back.  During the week this is a busy commuter route especially for students at the University of Kent.

I wholeheartedly support Sustrans and hope that the Crab and Winkle Bridges will be chosen for the final list.
