Route query - SG10 to SG12
I have recently started cycling to work and wanted to know if any further schemes are planned on disused railway paths in Hertfordshire.  I currently join a disused railway path running from Widford towards Amwell.  Unfortunately, I am forced off the railway track at Watersplace Farm and have to join the B1004 to get in to Ware.  I am told the disused railway track does exist and runs into other cycle paths at the River Lee.  It is a shame this could not be linked together.

Route Query

As a regular cycle user of the track from the bridge over the A14 (GR499599) past the back of Anglesey Abbey and then onto Swaffham Bulbeck I am really pleased about proposals to improve the routes from Cambridge to Ely via Wicken. One suggestion- has the project board considered linking the disused railway track from near Fen Ditton where it parts from the Sustrans route (which then goes on to the Park and Ride) with High ditch road? Its only a few hundred yards or so and this would then let you across the A14 on the existing bridge and join the old railway route again at GR504610. Or- even better, how about a new bridge over the A14 along the line of the disused railway which could then be officially be upgraded to a cycle route? (although many of us use it all the time now unofficially !)

Also, I very much hope the proposals to link Waterbeach with the Fen on the East side of the Cam and Wicken come off. I regularly cycle to Waterbeach station from Swaffham Bulbeck via Lode, a dodgy footbridge, a large muddy field, 3 styles and a farm track with questionable public access (although no one has shouted at me yet in 6 years) to cross the Cam at Clayhithe. I would like to hear of anyone else in this area currently struggling to get from A to B by bike with similar 'interesting' journeys- eg  to Newmarket via the footbridge at Devil's Dyke over the A14 and across the Rowley Mile course!
