Whilst millions of people pass through Dover every year, very few visit the local town centre. Likewise, many residents are cut off from the sea by busy roads. This proposal will open up the River Dour for pedestrians and cyclists, thereby connecting the outlying parts of the town to the town centre and the seafront.
Kent County Council engages public support in bid to make new route for Dover a reality
A public consultation is taking place for this potential new walking and cycling route linking the Buckland areas with Dover Town Centre. Kent County Council are asking for the community to give their views on this scheme so that it can progress to the next stage of decision making within the Council.

"This is a great honour; I love the thought of becoming part of the landscape alongside Dick Wagstaff and the great Richard Burton. I'm hoping that my sculpture might be able to persuade Burton's sculpture to quote some poetry of an evening, or at least a bit of War of the Worlds." Rob Brydon
