Northwich, Riversdale Swingbridge

Until its closure, up to 1000 people a day used Riversdale Bridge to access local schools and colleges. The project aims to reinstate this link with a new, iconic bridge on this historic section of the Weaver Navigation.  It will not only serve as a vital connection across the river but as a popular destination in its own right, and a catalyst for change at the heart of a walking and cycling network.

"This is a great honour; I love the thought of becoming part of the landscape alongside Dick Wagstaff and the great Richard Burton. I'm hoping that my sculpture might be able to persuade Burton's sculpture to quote some poetry of an evening, or at least a bit of War of the Worlds." Rob Brydon
