Two bustling main roads cross the River Nene near Northampton centre. Neither serves cyclists in comfort or safety. It is the same for people wishing to ride up or down river since development on both banks has long ignored the water. The project plugs many of the remaining gaps by sponsoring new paths, along and across the river connecting to homes, workplaces, shops and cultural facilities.

Ways through Waterside scheme in Northampton
Available to download is the Ways through Waterside scheme article for the Northampton Connect2 Project. This article shows that new routes for walkers and cyclists in the Northampton scheme are underway. This scheme is just one of 79 other Sustrans' Connect2 walking and cycling networks across the UK to benefit from £50million from the Big Lottery Fund.
