RESERVE SCHEME
There are 20 reserve schemes and it is intended that individual schemes will be called forward should any of the 79 schemes comprising the final Connect2 Project find they are unable to complete their programme.
Didcot is a community divided by the mainline railway. Much of the new part of the town lies to the north and is separated from the rest of the town by the narrow one-way Cow Lane. Pedestrians and cyclists must share a narrow, raised footpath above the traffic. This proposal is to drive a new path and tunnel under the railway embankment connecting to the extensive network of routes on either side. Provided that complete priority is given on these connecting routes, walking and cycling around Didcot will become the easiest and quickest way of travelling.

Comment from pledges:
"I regularly cycle from south of Didcot to Abingdon and beyond. A dedicated pedestrian/cycle underpass near Cow Lane would be a boon."
"This is a long-standing issue which desperately needs resolving."

"This is a great honour; I love the thought of becoming part of the landscape alongside Dick Wagstaff and the great Richard Burton. I'm hoping that my sculpture might be able to persuade Burton's sculpture to quote some poetry of an evening, or at least a bit of War of the Worlds." Rob Brydon
"Making it easy for millions of people to change their world by walking and cycling to the local places they want to go"
