The Connect2 project in Perth is intended to deliver a new pedestrian and cycle bridge spanning the River Tay from the North Inch to Isla Road at Upper Springland. In addition, improvements are planned to local walking and cycle routes, linking them to the bridge and enhancing access for anyone walking or going by bike through Perth. Perth and Kinross Council and Sustrans have been working together on the Connect2 project since the successful award of a Big Lottery Fund grant of £1.25m to Sustrans in December 2007.
Now the Council is inviting the public’s views for three weeks, between Friday 13 August and Friday 3 September 2010, on two designs developed for the bridge. The feedback from this consultation will help inform the important decision about which option goes forward to the planning process.

"This is a great honour; I love the thought of becoming part of the landscape alongside Dick Wagstaff and the great Richard Burton. I'm hoping that my sculpture might be able to persuade Burton's sculpture to quote some poetry of an evening, or at least a bit of War of the Worlds." Rob Brydon
