Gowerton, Penclawdd and Crofty

Gowerton –

There are 20 reserve schemes across the UK and it is intended that individual schemes will be called forward should any of the 79 schemes comprising the final Connect2 Project find they are unable to complete their programme.

The connection of Penclawdd to Gowerton and National Route 4 will create a vital link into Gower and an alternative to the busy, twisting B4295. It will provide a safe route to access the National Cycle Network at Gowerton (to Swansea or Llanelli), to the nearby schools and encourage more cycle tourism into the heart of Gower.

Tre-gwyr –

Mae 20 cynllun wrth gefn ar draws y DU a bwriedir i gynlluniau unigol gael eu galw ymlaen os bydd unrhyw un o'r 79 chynllun sy'n rhan o'r Prosiect Connect 2 terfynol yn gweld eu bod yn methu cwblhau eu rhaglen.

Bydd cyswllt Penclawdd I Dre-gwyr a Llwybr Cenedlaethol 4 yn creu cyswllt hanfodol i'r Gwyr ac yn ddewis amgen i'r B4295 brysur a throellog. Bydd yn darparu llwybr diogel i gael mynediad at y Rhwydwaith Beiciau Cenedlaethol yn Nhregwyr (i Abertawe neu Lanelli), i'r ysgolion gerllaw ac yn annog rhagor o dwristiaeth beiciau i mewn i galon Gwyr.

How will the local community benefit?

Comments from the pledges:

"A key project to provide a missing link up the Swansea Valley and to reduce severance in the community"

"A stunning route for views which connects the beautiful North Gower Coast to the NCN 4 at Gowerton. A key route to local schools and facilities as well as for families to use."

"This is a great honour; I love the thought of becoming part of the landscape alongside Dick Wagstaff and the great Richard Burton. I'm hoping that my sculpture might be able to persuade Burton's sculpture to quote some poetry of an evening, or at least a bit of War of the Worlds." Rob Brydon
