In six locations across the country people involved in making their Connect2 scheme a reality – from councillors, to transport officers, engineers, residents and community groups - have been getting together at the Annual Connect2 conference. The theme of the days was Reconnecting to Connect2, and they have helped to ensure that all those involved in delivering Connect2 have had the opportunity to benefit from the experience of others and to come together to celebrate the potential that Connect2 brings to all the schemes as part of a wider UK-wide community.
The conferences were well attended and the debates and workshops lively. The links on this page will take you to different presentations made on the day which you are welcome to download and share with others.
Wayne Hemingway is a Patron of Sustrans and keen supporter of Connect2. He is co founder of fashion label Red or Dead and Hemingway designs. Katy Hallet founded Vizability Community Arts Group and various multi- disciplinary outreach art projects. She has been developing Sustrans Art and the Travelling landscape programme since 1989. In this presentation and film she talks about the Portrait Bench that will be included in each Connect2 scheme, and the opportunities to involve the community in their creation whilst ensuring that collectively they serve as a great celebration of Connect2 across the UK.

Huw Davies, - Sustrans Technical Director presented “Better by design” , a snapshot of the Connect2 Greenway Guidelines in action, and how Sustrans hopes each Connect2 scheme will approach the design process (ppt)
Senior management team presentation shows the achievement and principles behind the many people that made Connect2 became a reality because of the project and all the schemes within it by voting and winning the Big Lottery Fund grant. (pdf)
