New bridge designs considered for Kenilworth scheme

The informal consultation over the three design options for the new bridge over the A429 Coventry Road closed last Friday, with over three hundred responses received. The three-day public exhibition at Kenilworth Library was well attended, and there were follow-on displays at both the Library and the University of Warwick.

The consultation responses are now being analysed by the Warwickshire Observatory team at the County Council, and the results will be presented to the Connect2 Kenilworth Steering Group next week. The Steering Group will then decide which of the design options goes forward into the formal planning process.

"This is a great honour; I love the thought of becoming part of the landscape alongside Dick Wagstaff and the great Richard Burton. I'm hoping that my sculpture might be able to persuade Burton's sculpture to quote some poetry of an evening, or at least a bit of War of the Worlds." Rob Brydon
