Connect2 is committed to providing a website that is accessible to as many users as possible - regardless of ability or browsing technology. Some of the more useful features are detailed below:

This site aims to achieve overall compliance with the Web Accessibility Initiative's Level 1 (WAI - A) guidelines.

Built using W3C technologies

This website is built using code compliant with World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards for XHTML and Cascading Style Sheets.

With style sheets disabled each page remains usable.

There is a text only alternative available from the lower navigation on all pages.

The XHTML used to build this site is valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional. This means that a formal validation of the pages on this site was successfully performed.

The Style sheet used validates as CSS v2.0

Navigation keys

This website has been built to allow easy access using either the keyboard or mouse. Keyboard commands are as follows:

• Tab: move forwards through links/elements on any page
• Shift + Tab: move backwards through links/elements on any page
• Return: Activate selected item on page
• Backspace: Back to the previous page

Text only

You will be able to see most of the site in text only by using the text only link on the bottom of each page.

Altering text size and colour contrast

You may not be aware that it is possible to alter the way you view a webpage by making a few quick changes to your browser settings. This will allow you to override the "designed" colour palette. There is a small trade-off in terms of visual appearance as you will usually lose some page styling but no content will be affected and you can still view the majority of images.

There are a very comprehensive set of accessibility guidelines produced for Internet Explorer. These cover changing text size, colours displayed on the page and more advanced options.

If you do not use Internet Explorer, it should be fairly simple to find the necessary adjustments for most browsers on their respective websites.

Documents stored on this website are available in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). This format can be viewed using the following free software:
